{"id":352,"date":"2023-04-20T11:00:30","date_gmt":"2023-04-20T09:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otc-com.dk\/?p=352"},"modified":"2023-04-20T11:00:31","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T09:00:31","slug":"meps-denounce-utopian-eu-carbon-tax-as-green-agenda-marches-through-parliament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stoptechnocracy.eu\/index.php\/2023\/04\/20\/meps-denounce-utopian-eu-carbon-tax-as-green-agenda-marches-through-parliament\/","title":{"rendered":"MEPs Denounce \u2018Utopian\u2019 EU Carbon Tax As Green Agenda Marches Through Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SOURCE: Breitbart<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of MEPs from a variety of parties have derided and mocked EU carbon tax plans as the next stage of its green agenda passes the bloc\u2019s parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key measures of the European Union\u2019s green agenda have now passed the bloc\u2019s parliament, with the implementation of new carbon tax measures in particular drawing ridicule from across the populist right in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new tax regime is part of the EU\u2019s \u201cFit for 55\u201d regime aimed at cutting the union\u2019s emissions by 55 per cent by 2030, with the plan being previously described as wanting to condemn the public to \u201cpoverty for generations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/parliament-approves-core-eu-climate-legislation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<em>POLITICO<\/em>, core pillars of the plan \u2014 including a new system of carbon taxes on businesses \u2014 have now been agreed upon by the European Parliament, despite fears that such a system will cause the poorest in the union to suffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFuel will become more expensive because of this climate tax,\u201d explained Vlaams Belang representative Gerolf Annemans in a press release given to Breitbart Europe. \u201cThis will not only have an effect on transport or heating, but also, for example, goods that require transport will rise in price.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seemingly aware of this fact however, the parliament also passed a\u00a0Social Climate Fund in order to compensate some of the more vulnerable members of the general public who will be harmed by the measure, the existence of which has been roundly ridiculed by opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2023\/04\/19\/meps-denounce-carbon-tax-after-green-plan-passed-by-eu-parliament\/\">Read full article&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SOURCE: Breitbart A number of MEPs from a variety of parties have derided and mocked EU carbon tax plans as the next stage of its green agenda passes the bloc\u2019s parliament.
