{"id":426,"date":"2024-07-27T13:29:45","date_gmt":"2024-07-27T11:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otc-com.dk\/?p=426"},"modified":"2024-07-27T13:29:47","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T11:29:47","slug":"copenpay-europes-first-climate-centric-social-credit-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stoptechnocracy.eu\/index.php\/2024\/07\/27\/copenpay-europes-first-climate-centric-social-credit-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cCopenPay\u201d \u2013 Europe\u2019s first Climate-centric Social Credit Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Source: Kit Knightly via OffGuardian<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The world\u2019s first climate-related social rewards scheme came into being two weeks ago, when the city of Copenhagen officially launched it\u2019s new \u201cCopenPay\u201d system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the CopenPay scheme, tourists visiting the city will be rewarded for \u201cgreen actions\u201d \u2013 such as using public transportation or cycling \u2013 with access to \u201ccultural experiences\u201d, free meals etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcopenhagen.com\/copenpay\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">For example<\/a>, arriving at the CopenHill dry ski slope by foot or on a bike will get you 20 free minutes of ski time, while anyone who volunteers at an organic urban farm will get a free lunch (vegetarian, naturally).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcopenhagen.com\/copenpay\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CopenPay website<\/a>&nbsp;describes the purpose of the system as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u2026to encourage sustainable behaviour and enrich the cultural experience of visitors and residents in Copenhagen by transforming green actions into currency for cultural experiences.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wonderfulcopenhagen.com\/wonderful-copenhagen\/international-press\/copenhagen-launches-new-green-experience-economy-initiative-copenpay\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WonderfulCopenhagen.com<\/a>&nbsp;adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>There is a need to change the mindset of tourists and encourage green choices [\u2026]Through CopenPay we therefore aim to incentivize tourists\u2019 sustainable behaviour while enriching their cultural experience of our destination.
